Applications
are invited from eligible Male candidates for filling up the post of Firemen in
the scale of Rs.5850–200/4-6650-250/5-7900-300/4-9100-350/3-10150-400/3-11350
in State Bank of Travancore. The details are given below: -

2. PAY AND ALLOWANCES:
-
The post carries the pay scale of
Rs.5850-200/4-6650-250/5-7900-300/4-9100-350/3-10150-400/3-1350, with such
allowances that are admissible under State Bank of Travancore service
regulations.
3. ELIGIBILITY: -
a. Citizenship: -
The applicant must be a citizen of India.
b. Eligibility criterion: - (As on 30/09/2011)
i.
Minimum 10TH
pass from a recognized board or
equivalent.
ii.
Minimum three
months basic/elementary firemen course in fire fighting from NFSC or any recognized
institute/defence service.
iii.
Preference will
be given to experienced candidates like Ex- Fire Brigade/Home Guard/civil
defence/Ex- servicemen.
c. Age Limit: -
i.
Not below 18
years and not above 30 years as on
30/09/2011.
ii.
Upper Age limit
will be relaxed as under:

4. Selection Procedure: - The selection will be made
based on the performance in: -
i.
A Physical
fitness & aptitude test will be conducted for the applicants found eligible
on scrutiny of the applications. Those who
do not get minimum Mark in the physical test will be disqualified.
ii.
Those who are
qualified in the physical fitness and aptitude test will be called for an
interview.
iii.
Final selection
will be on the basis of total marks in physical and aptitude test and the
interview.
5. Medical Examination: -
The
selected candidates have to undergo medical examination and should be medically
fit. Those who are having flat foot,
knock-knee, squint eye, color blindness etc. will not be eligible for recruitment.
6.
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION: -
15th November
2011 5 Pm.
Application fee: - An
examination fee of Rs.100/- is payable in the form of a crossed Bank draft
drawn in favour of State bank of Travancore, Trivandrum. Candidates belonging to
SC/ST/Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying Examination fee.
7.GENERAL
INSTRUCTIONS: -
i.
The format of
the application form is given in Annexure. The application form can be down
loaded from Banks website (www.statebankoftravancore.com)
and send to the Deputy General Manager (HR), SBT, Personnel Administration
Department, Head office, Poojappura, Trivandrum – 695 012.
ii.
The words
‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF FIREMEN’ should be superscribed on the envelope
containing the application.
iii.
The exact date,
time, place and venue for the tests/interview will be intimated to the
candidates through call letters.
iv.
Applications
should be sent through registered post only. No application will be received by
hand or through private courier service.
v.
The application
should be filled by the candidates in their own handwriting, in Hindi or
English only.
vi.
Coloured
photograph (3.5 cms X 4.5 cms) of the applicant should be pasted at the space
provided in the application form with front view of the face without cap and
sunglasses.
vii.
Applications
must be accompanied by:-
a.
A crossed Bank
draft for Rs.100/- in favour of State Bank of Travancore.
b.
Copies of self
attested educational, professional and Date of Birth certificates.
c.
Copies of self
attested SC/ST/OBC certificates in the prescribed format.
d.
Copy of
discharge certificate for ex- servicemen.
e.
One colored
photograph (3.4 cms X 4.5 cms) with clear front view of the face without
sunglass and cap mentioning the name of candidate on the reverse side in
addition to the one pasted on the application.
f.
Two self
addressed envelopes (28 cms X 12 cms) each bearing postal stamp of Rs 5/-dully
affixed.
8. NOTES: -
i. Applicants called for the tests or Interview shall
make their own arrangement for boarding, lodging and transport.
ii. Applicants called for tests or Interview will
take part at their own risk. Bank will not be liable to compensate the
candidates in any way, incase they suffer any injury during out door skill
test.
iii.
Candidates found to be having adverse report on their antecedents and
characters are not eligible for recruitment.
iv. The decision of selection committee on all
matters relating to eligibility, place, venue, date, mode of selection,
acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the
applicants.
v. An applicant serving under Govt, Public sector
enterprise/undertaking will be considered for appointment only after he
furnishes a No Objection Certificate duly issued by the employer
vi. Canvassing in any form will be disqualification.
