Job Description
Geographic Specialist
Skill
development on required map and content development applications and maintain
compliance with database specifications and project requirements .
Work on map
and content development projects through various process steps e.g. coding,
quality; and support pilot works .
Support
documentation activities for regular/ongoing projects and provide feedback for
enhancement of processes/training materials .
Support
early adoption of new tools/technologies/processes and provide feedback for
pilot works (as applicable) and suggest improvements/enhancements .
Support
continual improvement initiatives .
Qualifications :
Bachelors
degree (4 year college degree or equivalent) required - (Engineering /
Technical streams preferred) .
0 - 2 years
experience with NAVTEQ proprietary tools or equivalent outside experience.
Combination
of qualification and experience can be considered .
Prior
knowledge/experience of COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) software applications
(e.g. GIS: ESRI ArcGIS and/or scripting languages) will be preferred .
Demonstrated
self learning capabilities and ability to gain expertise on multiple software
applications.
Good
process oriented skills with focus on deadline achievement .
Good
analytical and problem solving skills.
Good
written and oral communication skills .
Ability to
effectively work with or conduct training with people from different cultures.
