Job Description:
Sub-Inspector (Sikkim Police)
Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University.
Note:
Should be conversant with the customs and usages of Sikkim.
Should have knowledge of any of the State Languages, viz. Nepali, Sikkimese, Bhutia, Lepcha or
Limbooo.
Should have valid local Employment Card.
Minimum Physical Standard:
Age limit(As on 28/02/2018): 18 yrs to 25 years.
Relaxations in upper age limit:
05 years for SC/ST/BL candidates
04 years for OBC (Central list) candidates
03 years for OBC (State List) candidates.
In case of Police Department candidates under Government of Sikkim in regular establishment, the
maximum age is relaxed up to 45 years as on 1st Aug 2014.
SPSC Recruitment Selection process:
The selection process will be based on following criteria
Preliminary Examination: 400 Marks
Physical Endurance-cum-Physical Efficiency Test: 50 Marks
Main Written Examination: 700 Marks
Viva-Voce: 100 Marks
Scheme Preliminary Examination:
This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
The question will be of multiple choice/objective type.
Scheme of Main Examination:
The written examination shall include two compulsory subjects (English & General Knowledge) and
two Optional Subjects out of the 50 subjects listed in the notification.
Note: Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the PET, Main Examination (written) as well as in
the Viva Voce would determine the final ranking
