Job Description:
Systems Engineer
Build and support Linux systems (Primary and must-have skills)
Installation, configuration and support of Linux-type Operating Systems, mostly CentOS and RHEL
File system configuration using LVM in Linux Build
VIM text editor skills required for extensive context (xml) file modification
- candidate needs to be comfortable on the command line interface, be thorough and exact
while manipulating configuration files using VIM or a local text editor
Working experience with DNS, BIND (basic skill set required)
Working experience with LDAP (nice to have)
Change Control and IQ execution
Candidate needs to be able to adhere to rigorous change control procedures.
(we do not modify a production or UAT system with a change control / request for change (RFC).
Candidate needs to be aware of that as this is extensive administrative tasks in form of
paperwork))
VMware Administration (Secondary nice to have)
VMware 4.x or 5.x support experience required
VMware attach SAN storage (LUNs) to Virtual Machines using best practices
VMware monitoring and performance related knowledge
SAN Storage (Secondary nice to have)
Working experience with EMC or IBM NetApp storage systems
Ability to add hosts to SAN, create Storage / RAID Groups and assign to hosts
NAS Storage (Secondary nice to have)
Familiarity with NAS storage and CIFS administration (works hand in hand with Active Directory)
Windows Administration
Working experience with Windows Operating Systems, specifically share administration
Working experience with Active Directory
Working experience with DNS
