Job Description
Essential
tasks in job responsibility will include:-
Grant
appropriate privileges to primary and secondary AUTH IDs.
Create /
modify database objects as defined in the physical model.
Enforce
security standards and naming conventions.
Define and
implement backup and recovery strategies for production environment.
Maintain
physical environment; remove / update datasets as necessary for JCL, DDL , etc.
Review
table/index growth for capacity planning: estimate future storage requirements.
Test new
features and products, assessing applicability and defining usage standards.
Assist
application development teams in resolving their DB2 queries/problems.
Following
will be considered advantageous if the concerned candidate:-
Can build
REXX macros, tools to support infrastructure & automate processes.
Has
programming experience with COBOL programming.
Can setup
automated Installation Verification Process for DB2 installations.
Key skills : DB2 DBA, DB2 Admin, Z / OS,
Mainframes
Required skills :
a)
Operating Systems : z/OS (MVS), Windows
b)
Languages/scripting : JCL, REXX
c) RDBMS :
z/OS Database 2 (Version 9 and above)
d) Tools :
SPUFI, QMF, Omegamon
