Job Description

Principal Responsibilities:

Follow standard engineering practices under direction of others, work is closely managed

Work with the team in analyzing customer issues to determine root cause, workarounds, and corrective actions

Provide solutions to limited variety of problems of limited scope and complexity

Develop debugging scripts/tools

Work independently as well as within a team environment

Complete tasks & assignments with direction and under supervision

Use tools appropriately with technical guidance, recognize problems that need further investigation, seek assistance when needed, demonstrate self-initiative and self-motivation

Competencies    

General knowledge and application of engineering concepts

Experience in administering major host operating systems (Solaris, Windows, Linux, HP/UX, VMware, AIX)

Proven background in C/C++ and scripting languages

Knowledge in SAN, Storage or Virtualization Solutions is preferred

Non-technical Skills:

As the candidate will be exposed to customer activity and engineering coordination, they must have the following non-technical skills.

Strong written and verbal skills

Strong set of problem solving and analytical skills

A strong sense of process, detail and follow-through
