Job Description

Junior Engineer

The Test Design Engineer will be a member of a team responsible for the development and implementation of functional tests for new and existing ADTRAN products.

This Test Design Engineer is an entry-level position where the work is primarily focused on learning and developing professional concepts within test design engineering.

Assignments are designed to establish professional work knowledge and abilities. Entry-level Engineers will normally receive detailed instructions on assignments and will follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.

Responsibilities:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.

Related Experience: This Test Design Engineer is an entry-level position, which may include up to 2 years of experience.

Equipment/Software Skills: C/C++ object-oriented programming experience, standard debugging methodologies, hardware design, software version control tools, communications test development tools (MIB browsers, terminal emulation packages, network monitoring software), experience required.

Knowledge in basic communications technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, ATM, switches, routers) and in telecommunications carrier technologies (DSLAM, xDSL, DS1, DS3, SONET, SDH, EoCu) is preferred. JAVA and Perl experience is a plus.
