Job Description

To be effective in this role you will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

A tertiary qualification in IT Engineering (or related Engineering discipline) or equivalent experience.

Proven ability to diagnose problems in a complex mission critical environment.

Solid understanding and experience with server, storage and network switch hardware including fault replacent and firmware upgrades.

Solid understanding and experience with Linux operating systems, including the Linux kernel, filesystems, networking, web servers, mail servers, the Linux command line and shell scripting languages.

Experience with the configuration of enterprise monitoring and enterprise automation technologies.

Solid understanding and experience with network protocols including DNS, DHCP, NFS.

Successful candidates will enhance their existing experience with the following technologies:

Web technologies (Apache/Tomcat)

Virtualization technologies (XEN / KVM / OVM)

Storage technologies (NFS/iSCSI)

Shell scripting (Bash/Perl/Ruby)

Internet protocols and services (DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SNMP, DHCP , BGP, VRRP)

Monitoring technoligies (Nagios)

Automation technologies (Puppet) & Linux based firewalls (IP Tables)

Internet mail (Postfix/Cyrus)

Performance analysis tools, e.g. Performance Co-Pilot.

Microsoft Windows Server operating system and Microsoft SQL Server

Source control (Git/SVN)

Applicants will be required to work on a two shift rotation basis (day or afternoon shift) and will be required to work out of normal hours on an as needs basis. Candidates may have the potential to advance into the delivery of major infrastructure projects for Aconex.
